Still photo → moving image
One of Iva's photos, brought to life
Iva took this garden arbor on July 23. We gave the photo to Google's Veo video model and asked for one slow, steady move, kept slow on purpose so it stays in the background: the camera glides down the path toward the bright opening at the end while the leaves stir in a breeze and sunlight flickers on the path. The idea is progress, moving forward. Nothing else is added and the path stays empty. At the end, the clip dissolves softly back to the start so it can run continuously.

What works, and what it takes
- Best subjects: paths, skylines, trees, water and flowers, where the motion itself can carry an idea: moving forward, reaching up, growing.
- Harder subjects: people and faces. The model can change how a person looks, so we would keep people still.
- Cost and time: about $3 and a few minutes per clip, so we can try several photos and keep the ones we like.
- On the site: the loop is small enough to load quickly, shows the still photo first, and stays still for visitors whose devices ask for reduced motion.
